Friendly, Patient Computer Help — In Person or Online
I’ve been providing one-on-one computer tutoring and tech support since 2020, helping people feel more confident using their computers, phones, and everyday software.
I specialize in Microsoft apps (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams) and AI tools, and I’m known for explaining things clearly, patiently, and without judgment.
Whether you prefer in-person help or remote sessions, my goal is to make technology feel useful, not overwhelming.
Offered Services
One-on-one help designed to build understanding, confidence, and independence.
In my previous role within a corporate security department, I held a NATO-level security clearance and was responsible for developing training materials and promoting awareness of current security threats. This experience informs a practical, real-world approach focused on everyday habits that reduce risk and help people feel more confident online.
Cybersecurity
Hands-on help with common technology issues such as slow computers, software problems, printer issues, login troubles, and system errors. I’ll work through the problem with you and explain what’s happening so you’re better prepared next time.
Troubleshooting
Support with setting up new devices, organizing files and photos, managing cloud storage, and simplifying how your technology works together. This is especially helpful when switching devices, upgrading systems, or trying to make everything feel less cluttered and more manageable.
Digital Organization
Practical, one-on-one help with Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and related tools. I use these applications daily in my full-time work as an HR Advisor, so support is grounded in real-world use, not theory. Whether you’re writing documents, managing email, or navigating online meetings, I’ll help you feel comfortable and capable.
Microsoft Office
Support with everyday computer use, including email, file organization, internet browsing, updates, and device settings. My background in psychology and education-focused work helps me explain things clearly and adapt to how you learn, without rushing or talking down.
Computer Basics
Clear, practical guidance on using AI tools for writing, research, organization, and productivity. I regularly explore emerging technologies through business conferences, webinars, and professional learning, and I focus on explaining AI in a realistic, grounded way — what’s useful, what’s safe, and what’s worth ignoring.

Hi, I’m Dex.
My work is rooted in real-world responsibility and helping systems function reliably for people in everyday situations.
Earlier in my career, I worked with Babcock in a business administrative security role, where I helped develop and maintain tools used to manage security clearances for approximately 750 employees. That experience required accuracy, discretion, and the ability to design processes that were practical, understandable, and dependable.
I now work full time as an HR Advisor, where I use digital systems and technology daily to support people, programs, and decision-making. This work has shaped how I think about technology — not as something separate or technical, but as something that should fit naturally into real workflows and real lives.
My academic background includes a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Victoria, including a year of Computer Science, and a Diploma in Human Resources. This combination influences how I approach teaching: with patience, clarity, and an understanding that everyone learns differently.
Outside of work, I’m naturally hands-on and self-directed. I’m a self-taught bike and car mechanic, baker, guitar player, coder, and dog trainer. I enjoy learning how things work and breaking complex problems into manageable steps — the same approach I bring to working with clients.
